About Us
The School started as an Experimental Junior High School, by Rev. Father Bernard Rakers in 1979 and was named Catholic Junior Secondary School under the headship of Mr. H. B. Obese.
The newly upgraded St. Thomas Senior Secondary Technical School Asmankese officially opened on Monday January 28th, 1991. It Started with fifty-two students who were admitted as a result of their success in the B. E. C. E. held in July, 1990.
The School started with eight Teaching and Non-Teaching staff. The School land which covers an area of 131.02 acres, that is 3600sq, was given by Barima Adu-Darko, then the chief of Asamankese to the Catholic Diocese of Accra.
The school was subsequently moved from its former location, the mission grounds to its presence site under the leadership of the first headmaster Mr. J. P. Otoo in 1993. The school’s enrollment at that time was One Hundred and Twenty students and programs offered were Technical, Vocational and Visual Arts.
